Obvious choice would be Solus Budgie, but being a fairly small development team, does it have a stable future, do you think? As far as software repositories are concerned, I reckon all the media codecs and document viewers are included, so I wouldn't make too much fuss about not having the same portfolio offered by Ubuntu. It would be a daily driver, mostly used for web browsing (keeping an eye on how many tabs are opened due to the 4 GB RAM), watching videos, listening to podcasts, studying.Ī good codec support would be desireable, and to be able to open. The Budgie desktop environment appeals to me the most, and I wonder if anyone has any experience with this desktop environment while having similar specs to mine. I am toying with the idea to get rid of Windows on my i3-2330m, 4 GB RAM laptop which has been with me in the last 10 years.
